Two CU football games leak, Buffs have unbelievably tough start to season

Jan 17, 2023, 2:04 PM

We’ll finally know what Coach Prime’s first season looks like on Wednesday morning when the Pac-12 is set to drop its conference slate. But two Colorado Buffaloes games leaked on Tuesday and revealed just how tough the start to the Deion Sanders Era will be.

We already knew the Buffaloes non-conference slate, which begins on the road in Dallas against College Football Playoff championship game runner-up TCU (Sept. 2). Then Colorado comes home for rivalry games in Boulder against Nebraska (Sept. 9) and Colorado State (Sept. 16.)

According to conference insider John Canzano, the Buffs will then travel to Oregon (Sept. 23), opening conference play against the Ducks. They’ll then come right back home to host USC the following Saturday (Sept. 30.)

After the Pac-12 nixed easing the Buffs into the season against ASU in Week 0, they now are seemingly punishing them with just about the toughest start possible. The Ducks finished No. 16 in the final College Football Playoff’s final ranking and the Trojans finished No. 13, only Utah finished better among Pac-12 foes.

While harsh, there are a lot of opportunities for the Buffs to be on College Gameday right off the bat for the first time in years.

CU will also host Arizona, Oregon State and Stanford in conference play. While they’ll travel to Arizona State, UCLA, Utah and Washington State. We’ll find out the order on Wednesday.
