On their podcast, Travis and Jason Kelce discussed Meinerz hating the play, and brought up his past videos "working out" in the woods

Broncos offensive lineman Quinn Meinerz probably didn’t think he’d be making headlines this week.

However, if you say something spicy in front of a camera, that can happen.

Speaking on Monday as Denver cleaned out their lockers, Meinerz mentioned how much he wants to beat the Chiefs next year. It’s a pretty harmless comment, considering the Broncos have lost 15 straight to Kansas City and every player on the team probably feels that way. Meinerz has been here for four of the defeats, so he’s only seen part of the domination.

However, moments later, Meinerz took a bit of a detour and criticized the Chiefs for a trick play on Saturday in Las Vegas. KC huddled up and danced in a circle, before snapping the ball and scoring a TD that was called back due to a flag. Meinerz didn’t like it.

“The fact that they did that little ‘Ring Around the Rosie’ play against the Raiders, like genuinely pissed me off,” Meinerz said.

The comment immediately went viral, with Chiefs fans very upset Meinerz called them out. It even made national headlines, as blogs all over the country picked it up.

Meinerz’s comments got all the way back to Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and his brother, Jason, who plays center for the Eagles. On their podcast, the two discussed it, and brought up Meinerz’s past videos of him “working out” in the woods. A fair warning: Travis uses explicit language twice in the clip below.

Meinerz garnered attention before and right after the 2021 NFL Draft with his wild videos. As the clip above shows, he pummeled trees in the woods, showing off his strength. The Broncos took a chance on Meinerz in the third-round, and it’s worked out. He’s been a solid player on Denver’s otherwise terrible offensive line.

With both Kelce brothers on bye this week in the NFL playoffs, they get the last laugh on this one. The Eagles and Chiefs are No. 1 seeds in their respective conferences, while Meinerz and the Broncos went 5-12.

Hopefully this is the last we have to discuss this, as Meinerz stirred a pot that didn’t need to be, and is now hearing about it from everyone else.
