Broncos QB Russell Wilson ended up hanging out with the Stanley Cup

Sep 7, 2022, 11:03 AM

The Stanley Cup has been all over the world.

We’ve documented its incredible journey with Avalanche stars Nathan MacKinnon, Cale Makar, Gabriel Landeskog and plenty of others, but now it’s returned to Denver.

The “Keeper of the Cup,” Philip Pritchard, announced the best trophy in sports will be hanging around town the next few days. Maybe you will get a chance to see it? That happened for Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson, some of his offensive line and the two other Denver QBs on Tuesday night.

How cool is that? It’s unclear how Avalanche forward Logan O’Connor and the Broncos ended up together, but it’s great Wilson, Brett Rypien, Josh Johnson, Dalton Risner, Quinn Meinerz, Lloyd Cushenberry and Calvin Anderson were able to snap a photo with the Cup.

Now let’s hope come February that Wilson and the Broncos are parading the Lombardi Trophy around Denver, taking pictures with some of the Avs.

By that point in the year, Colorado should be in first place in the Western Conference, ready to defend their hockey title.
