The video of Cale Makar’s day with the Stanley Cup is so wholesome

When Avalanche defenseman Cale Makar had his day with the Stanley Cup earlier this month, we shared the pictures and they were fantastic.

But what the team did documenting the festivities was even better.

The Avs sent a videographer to Makar’s hometown of Calgary and produced an incredible four-minute video of Makar and the best trophy in sports. The Conn Smythe winner even took the Cup to a senior living area, seeing his grandma and all of her friends. It seems all of Calgary wanted a picture with Cale, and he did his best to oblige. Check it out:

Now that is a day! Breakfast from the Cup, a trip for a Slurpee and adult beverages later with friends and family. Even grandma had to take a sip out of it.

It should also be noted during the end of the video Makar says he didn’t get everything done he wanted to do in his single day with the Cup. But he says maybe he’ll get to do it again. If the stud defenseman keeps playing elite level hockey, there’s no reason he and a loaded Avalanche team can’t win multiple championships.

Hopefully we’re seeing another video exactly like this one next summer. But it will be hard to top this one.
