WATCH: Nathan McKinnon scores incredible hat trick goal

May 25, 2022, 8:49 PM

When times get tough, the best players step up.

That’s what Colorado Avalanche star forward Nathan McKinnon did on Wednesday—step up.

The Avs blew their 3-0 lead, with the St. Louis Blues scoring at 15:14 to complete their comeback. Exactly two minutes later McKinnon netted one of the finest goals of his career, taking the game over completely.

McKinnon took the puck from behind his own net, turned on the jets, zig-zagged through the neutral zone, carried it over the blue line himself and put one of the best dekes you will ever see on a Blues d-man before bringing it back and going top shelf.

The goal put everyone’s hats on the ice as MacK’s third of the night. But the Blues answered back minutes later to take the game into overtime at 4-4.

Here are McKinnon’s first two goals of the game and of this series.
