Data says almost no one is watching the Nuggets on TV this season

The feud between Altitude TV and Comcast and DISH Network is costing the Denver Nuggets in a major way.

According to John Ourand of Sports Business Journal, the Nuggets are on pace for the lowest NBA local rating in the past 15 years. The team is doing a .19 rating in the Denver market, worse than the Magic in Orlando (.27) and Clippers in Los Angeles (.55). Altitude TV hasn’t been available on Comcast and DISH for 2.5 years.

For context, the Warriors lead the NBA with a 7.63 local rating, while the Cavaliers come in second with a 3.74 rating. Ourand shared the latest ratings on Twitter and in an article on Friday.

The legal battle between Altitude and Comcast could hopefully be coming to an end soon. The Denver Post reported Wednesday the two sides are continuing to discuss a contract resolution after a settlement conference ended without a new deal. Altitude TV is currently available on DirecTV.

In the meantime, the biggest loser remains fans of the team, deprived of watching reigning MVP Nikola Jokic and a very exciting Nuggets team battle for playoff position.

Denver is currently the No. 6 seed in the Western Conference with a 34-25 record.
