Sports Radio 104.3 The Fan has been named the Colorado Broadcasters Association metro radio “Station of the Year,” the organization announced Thursday afternoon.

The CBA Awards of Excellence recognize broadcast media across the Front Range. This is the first time 104.3 The Fan has earned the honor of metro radio “Station of the Year.”

“I am humbled and overwhelmed that the Colorado Broadcasters Association has recognized The Fan as Metro Market Radio Station of the Year,” said Sports Radio 104.3 The Fan program director Raj Sharan.

“Not only did The Fan manage to earn this honor for the first time in our more than 25 year history, it happened during a year when we largely didn’t have sports happening due to the pandemic. That’s a testament to our hardworking staff who worked so incredibly to help accomplish this tremendous achievement.

“The areas we were individually recognized in ranged from programming to digital media to sales to commercial production: a sign of our well-rounded and talented group. Just as importantly, I want to thank our amazing Fan listeners who stuck with us and listened in all new ways during 2020. It was their passion that drove us, and this award belongs to them just as much as it does to us.”

The honor comes just a day after 104.3 The Fan took away a dozen individual CBA awards and certificates of merit, including:
