Star safety Justin Simmons and the Denver Broncos have agreed to a record long-term deal.

The agreement is for a record four-year, $61 million deal that includes $35 million in guaranteed money.

This makes Simmons the NFL’s highest-paid safety and first safety in the NFL to make over $15 million per year.

The Broncos placed the franchise tag on Simmons for the second consecutive season in early March with the intention of signing him to a long-term deal.

Simmons made his breakthrough in 2018 with 97 tackles and three interceptions and followed up the next season with 93 tackles and four interceptions.
