The night before the Super Bowl, the Pro Football Hall of Fame is set to unveil its class of 2021. Unlike previous years, however, it won’t be the culmination of a Saturday spent presenting, debating and voting for candidates at the sight of the big game. This time around, the vote has already been conducted.
With as many as eight new inductees to be announced, a leak seemed inevitable. And according to reports, that’s exactly what happened.
In an article on Pro Football Talk, it’s been revealed that former Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning has been told that he’s made the cut. Apparently, Hall of Fame president David Baker spilled the beans at a party in No. 18’s honor.
Surely, the QB wasn’t surprised. After all, he’s one of the best players in NFL history. He won five Most Valuable Player awards, appeared in three Super Bowls, won two Lombardi Trophies and held nearly every passing record when he retired.
Manning was always a sure-fire, slam-dunk, first-ballot Hall of Famer. Now, it’s just official. Almost.
