Sean Payton officially signs as the Broncos next head coach

There hasn’t been a press conference yet. The team’s owner is on the golf course, playing in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. But that didn’t stop business from getting done.
On Friday, the Broncos made it official. Sean Payton is their new head coach.

Payton replaces Nathaniel Hackett, who was fired just 15 games into his tenure at the helm in Denver. He brings an impressive resume, having reached the playoffs in nine out of his 15 seasons in New Orleans, including the Saints only trip to the Super Bowl and Lombardi Trophy.
Now, the head coach can get to work assembling his staff. That’ll be a key to hitting the ground running in the Mile High City, as Payton tries to end the Broncos seven-year playoff drought.
