Oddsmakers mixed but most believe Broncos will win on Christmas in L.A.

The Broncos had been winless since before Halloween, but they snapped that streak on Sunday and now they’re looking for a second straight win on Christmas day.
The Broncos got that win against the lousy Cardinals, by the count of 24-15. Meanwhile, the Rams are coming off a Monday night game and haven’t played, as of this writing, since Dec. 8 when they beat the Raiders 17-16 thanks to a Baker Mayfield miracle. Each of these two teams are 4-9, and what was once expected to be a huge game down the stretch does not matter. But at least there’s some slime involved!
Denver’s league-worst offense at 15.6 points per game but have broken out two weeks in a row. Backup Brett Rypien couldn’t lead Denver to a win against Kansas City, coming in for Russell Wilson, who was suffering from a concussion. But Ryp was solid against Arizona as Denver’s run game pushed them to the win.
Most oddsmakers currently predict that the Broncos will win this game by two points but you can find some books that peg the Rams as a half-point favorite as of Monday morning. Prognosticators expect a very low-scoring showdown, with a total of 37.5 points.
That means folks in Vegas think the Broncos will win around the score of 20-17 or so.
Neither team has much to play for since they’re each out of the playoff picture but neither team is tanking. Both are currently going to send a top-five pick to another team in trades they made for quarterbacks. Denver’s pick is headed to Seattle for Russell Wilson while the Rams’ selection is going to Detroit for Matt Stafford.
This will be the 14th matchup between these western state foes. The Rams are 9-5 all-time against the Broncos, dating back to their time in St. Louis and the first time in Los Angeles. The Rams won 23-20 in the teams’ last matchup in 2018.
The Broncos are on the road again next week, playing the Chiefs on New Year’s Day.
