Watch: Mike Purcell snaps on Russell Wilson as Broncos cave in Carolina

The Denver Broncos’ very good defense appears to be breaking a bit in Carolina after doing so much bending.
The offense, stuck on three points and plenty more punts, has forced the defense to do a lot. Already ahead 17-3, Carolina’s Sam Darnold got a long pass to DJ Moore over the usually-steady Pat Surtain II. The Panthers took advantage and made their lead a three-score game, adding a field goal.
After the play, Mike Purcell got into with the Panthers and was called for a penalty. His jawing didn’t stop when he walked to the sideline and appeared to snap on Denver’s quarter-billion-dollar quarterback Russell Wilson.

Wilson didn’t get a chance to shut his nose tackle up on the next drive. Before Russ got the ball, the Broncos fumbled the ensuing kickoff, which was moved up 15 yards due to Purcell’s penalty.

Purcell wasn’t the only veteran to lose his cool on Sunday; Courtland Sutton was also flagged for getting into it with some Panthers on the sideline after a play.
Wilson’s offense hasn’t done much of anything most of the season, and Sunday’s performance was as bad as any.
