Javonte Williams injured, Broncos fear serious injury

Oct 2, 2022, 4:16 PM | Updated: 6:58 pm

The Broncos’ second-season standout running back Javonte Williams went down in Denver’s Week 4 contest against the Las Vegas Raiders and it could be very bad.

The 5-10, 220-pound back is following up a great rookie season out of North Carolina with 4.8 yards per carry through three games thus far. Williams was ruled out for the rest of the game and did not return.

DenverFan’s Andrew Mason reported from Vegas that Williams is struggling to put any weight on one of his legs. Williams was later taken back to the locker room on a cart

Williams has been one of the most consistent and best parts of the Broncos’ offense. The loss of the running back for any amount of time could be devastating. Making the injury worse for the Broncos is Melvin Gordon’s struggles, fumbling for a fourth time in four games this season already, which cost Denver six points in this game. Mike Boone got the first carry after Williams left the game.

Multiple reports said after the game Williams will undergo an MRI on Monday but the fear is a serious injury.
