There’s been a rare Kris Bryant sighting!

The $182 million man showed up in his old home Friday to meet with the media. At the Friendly Confines, Bryant shared that he had a PRP injection and is feeling much better. He said he even took a run before the Rockies opened up a three-game set with the Cubs.

Bryant hasn’t played since the end of July and is currently on the Injured List for the third time this season. Bryant was first injured this season in late April after complaining about sleeping arrangements on a road trip. Bryant missed 21 games, came back for two, then missed another 33 with the same injury. Now Bryant is hobbled by a foot injury that he initially tried to play through.

Bryant was signed by the Rockies this past winter, signaling a new star at Coors Field. But it looks like the former All-Star will go without hitting a home run in his home ballpark in 2022. Currently, Bryant’s been paid $99,447.51 per plate appearance, coming up 181 times this year. He’s been okay when he has played, slashing .306/.376/.475 in minimal action.

The reason for his high salary is simple; he was the 2015 National League Rookie of the Year and followed that up with a 2016 National League MVP award en route to ending the Cubs’ World Series drought. Bryant was traded away to the Giants at last year’s deadline before signing with Colorado.

Bryant has been one of the better players in baseball over the last eight seasons, but his first year in Colorado will go down as a disaster. Marred by injuries, he didn’t really get a chance to help the Rockies, as they’ve fallen to 20 games under .500.
