At the very end of Broncos Training Camp practice on Monday, a starter went down after a great play.
Courtland Sutton made a great catch over Ronald Darby, but the corner was shaken up.
“That’s football, that’s gonna happen; you can only control what you can, that’s why here in Denver we’re doing what we’re doing in how we practice and trying to protect each other,” head coach Nathaniel Hackett said after practice about the injury. “I don’t want them to hold back, but I’m trying to take control of some things. But that’s football, and hopefully, both guys are great.”
It’s unclear if Darby is injured or what the seriousness would be. But it’s worth watching since Darby is slotted to play a key role across the field from Patrick Surtain II.
Darby, a former Super Bowl winner with the Eagles, is entering his second season in Denver.
Sutton came over and said something to Darby, who was up and walking but now crouched with trainers still around. Hopefully it’s a wind-knocked-out-of-him type situation.

Practice ends with deep from 3 to 14 over 23. 23 down hard. Trainers with him. Not sure the issue but down for quite a bit. 3 checked on him as did 14.
