Tyler Kinley was having a terrific start to the 2022 season but that’s all it will be.
The Colorado Rockies righty is likely done for the year, set for surgery on his throwing elbow due to a sprain and flexor tear, according to MLB.com’s Thomas Harding.
Kinley has a 0.75 ERA in 25 games over 24 innings this season. The third-year bullpen arm hit the Injured List a week ago.
Kinley had 26 strikeouts and just six walks this season and hadn’t allowed a home run.
Closer Daniel Bard has been the Rockies next best bullpen guy, with a 2.05 ERA, getting 13 saves. By ERA, the Rockies have had the second-worst bullpen in baseball this season.
Kinley, 31, is due for a pay raise next season.
