DeSean Jackson says he would play with Russell Wilson and the Broncos

Wide receiver DeSean Jackson might be open to playing the 2022 season with the Denver Broncos, if he decides to take the field.
“If the right situation calls, you know, great quarterback, not good quarterback,” Jackson told Sports Illustrated when asked if he’d play this year. “There’s a few teams. Chiefs may be one, the Browns, Russell Wilson in Denver. Green Bay. We’ll see for sure.”
But would the Broncos want him?
Sure, Jackson’s had some nice seasons and a good career, but he’s now 35-years-old. The Three-time Pro Bowler has played for the Eagles, Washington, Buccaneers, Rams and Raiders. He has 58 career receiving touchdowns, but only had two combined between Los Angeles and Las Vegas in 2021.
The Broncos are already loaded at receiver with Courtland Sutton, Tim Patrick and Jerry Jeudy all tempting targets for Russell Wilson. Adding a veteran like Jackson, especially with KJ Hamler rehabbing as well, may not make sense. Broncos GM George Paton also spoke glowingly of Hamler at his pre-draft press conference on Friday morning.
Paton says he’s been very impressed by KJ Hamler this off-season. Says he’s doesn’t have a timeline on his return, but says he’s way ahead of schedule. #Broncos

Regardless, Jackson’s not even totally committed — even if he does get offered a job somewhere.
“I’m not really sure if I’m going to play next year or not,” Jackson said. “At this point where I’m in my life it’s got to be the right fit. It’s just got to feel right for me. My career’s been one helluva ride.”
This feels more like Jackson is campaigning for a job as opposed to teams are blowing up his phone asking him to come sign a deal. For me, and likely Broncos GM George Paton, this is a “thanks, but no thanks” situation.
