Beginning Sunday, Denver Broncos fans and foes alike will be required to mask up in all public indoor spaces at Empower Field at Mile High in compliance with the most recent Denver Public Health Order issued Tuesday, the team announced Wednesday.
Those in attendance — regardless of vaccination status — are required to wear masks in any public indoor space, which includes, but is not limited to, the Broncos Team Store, restrooms, elevators, indoor portions of the stadium clubs, suite level corridors and the press box.
“Empower Field at Mile High will remain in close communication with public officials and health experts, adjusting its COVID-19 policies as necessary based on the latest recommendations and in accordance with all local/league protocols,” the team said in a release. “We will continue to do our part to prevent the spread of COVID-19, including encouraging all eligible Coloradans to receive the vaccination.”
Masks will not be required in suites, as they are considered private spaces, along with the outdoor seating bowl or general concourse areas.
Earlier this month, the Broncos strongly encouraged fans to don masks in public areas throughout Empower Field at Mile High due to an increase in COVID-19 cases in the state and the rising capacity of COVID-19 patients within local health care systems.
