In the first hour, DMac, Tyler and Nick join in on the 25th birthday celebrations for The Fan by looking back at all that took place in 1995. Jerry Schemmel, former Fan host and play-by-play announcer for the Denver Nuggets, joins the show to play a round of “Better Man”, comparing the 1995 Nuggets to today’s squad. The guys discuss how bizarre the 1995 draft was for the Broncos and how pivotal it turned out to be to their success moving forward. Woody Paige, columnist for the Colorado Springs Gazette and former Fan Host joins the show to describe what the sports landscape was like when The Fan first went on the air.
In the second hour, DMac, Tyler and Nick discuss the current state of the Broncos running back room now that Devontae Booker and Theo Riddick will be testing free agency. The guys play a round of “Weakest Link” to determine which area on the Broncos roster is lacking the most. Sandy Clough joins the show live in studio for the second round of “Better Man”, comparing the 1995 Avalanche to today’s squad. Legendary Colorado broadcaster and former Fan Host Joe Williams joins the show to discuss the sports landscape when The Fan first came on the air and play a third round of “Better Man” comparing the 1995 Broncos to today’s squad.
“The Shop” about learning to read defenses this season. Former Avalanche President and General Manager Pierre Lacroix joins the show to with The Fan a happy birthday and reminisce on the star-studded roster he oversaw in the mid-90s.
In the fourth hour, DMac, Tyler and Nick talk with Drew Goodman to play a fourth round of “Better Man”, comparing the 1996 Rockies to today’s squad. The guys review the week that was during The Drive’s Friday Rewind. Legendary Colorado broadcaster and former Fan Host Joe Williams joins the show to discuss the sports landscape when The Fan first came on the air and play a third round of “Better Man” comparing the 1995 Broncos to today’s squad.
