Schefter has odds of Broncos dealing WR Thomas greater than 50-50

After Sunday’s loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, Denver Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas put the odds that he’ll be moved by Tuesday’s 2 p.m. NFL trade deadline at “50-50.”
But the odds Sunday was Thomas’ last game in orange and blue seem may be higher than that, ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter told Big Al and DMac on Monday.
“I know that last week people were saying that they didn’t think he’d be traded, but you heard Demaryius after the game yesterday say he thought it was 50-50 that he’d be traded,” Schefter said. “I think the odds are greater than that.”

Schefter told Big Al and DMac last week that he “wouldn’t be surprised” should Thomas be moved by Tuesday.
In terms of the return for Thomas, Schefter said he doesn’t think the Broncos will get “a lot,” but that’s better than nothing at all.
“If Denver’s going to move on from him after the season, and just basically make him a salary cap casualty, which some people believe he would be, then why not get something back for him now while you can,” Schefter said. “So, that would be the thinking if they decide to move on from him, aside from the fact that you’ve got these young wide receivers out there — Sutton, Patrick, Hamilton — that obviously look like they deserve some time and a chance to grow.”
“Schlereth and Evans” co-host Mark Schlereth echoed a similar statement on Monday as well.
“I think there’s one position, and one position only, that you have to just say, ‘Hey, it’s been a great career. Thanks for your service, D.T., but we’re moving on,’” Schlereth said. “We’ve got Courtland Sutton. We’re good at that position.
“What kind of value can we get, one, and what kind of salary can we dump, two. That’s what you’re looking for.”
