Stokley: Broncos need to find a way to trade WR Demaryius Thomas

Following speculation earlier this week that the Denver Broncos have placed Demaryius Thomas on the trading block, Brandon Stokley said the team needs to find a way to part ways with its longtime star wide receiver.
The “Stokley and Zach” co-host said Thursday that reports that the Broncos were shopping DT but unwilling to part with his counterpart Emmanuel Sanders leaves both parties in a predicament.
“How does that go in the locker room? How does DT feel about that? I just think that in this situation now, you’ve got to move on from DT,” Stokley said. “And you’ve got to find a way to trade him. It’s not the type of look that you want.
“I think it’s best for both parties now to find a way to trade DT.”
On Monday, ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter told Big Al and DMac that his sense is that Thomas would be moved sometime before the Oct. 30 trade deadline.
“I won’t be surprised if Demaryius Thomas is traded here at some point in the next eight days,” Schefter told Big Al and DMac on Monday. “We’ll see where he goes. But there are certain people you can just see the writing on the wall for right now.”
But on Tuesday, 9News Broncos reporter Mike Klis said via Twitter it’d be a “good bet” that Thomas finishes the season in Denver.
Update to yesterday’s story, the Broncos will not trade Demaryius Thomas this week and are not actively shopping him, per source. Will they listen if teams are interested as Tuesday trade deadline approaches next week? Probably. But good bet DT finishes season in Denver. #9sports
