Report: Ex-Raiders punter King would ‘love’ a shot with the Broncos

Apparently recently released punter Marquette King wants a shot to boom kick at elevation more than just the one time the Oakland Raiders play the Denver Broncos each year.
King, who was released by Oakland last week, has talked with the Broncos to express his interest in punting in the Mile High City, according to 9News’ Mike Klis.
Klis reports that King’s representative, Wynn Silberman, said the punter would “love an opportunity” to visit Denver, as the city’s a “punter’s dream,” and that the Broncos are “high on his list.”
Reports last week indicated that King’s personality clashed with recently re-hired Raiders head coach Jon Gruden and that his release was a “message.”
There were whispers of King’s personality not clicking with Gruden’s. I should have listened better. Coach didn’t want to spend a lot of money on punter who gets personal fouls. #Raiders

According to Spotrac.com, King has been fined a total of $39,500 during the past two seasons for a trio of on-field incidents, including an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty against the Broncos in Week 4 for throwing a ball at a Denver player after a failed fake punt.
The move also saved the Raiders $2.5 million against the salary cap.
A hitch in King’s plan, however, could be that Denver already has a punter on its roster — Riley Dixon, whom the team drafted in the seventh round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
Dixon, whose held the Broncos punting job since his rookie season, has a total of 162 punts during the past two seasons, with a net average of 41.3 yards per punt.
In comparison, during the past five seasons (playing in 16 games each season), King’s net average is 41.1 yards per punt.
