Sunday’s season finale at home against the Kansas City Chiefs might have even larger implications on the future of Vance Joseph with the Denver Broncos organization than previously believed.
ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter reported Sunday morning that Joseph “faces increasingly longer odds” of keeping his job and returning for the 2018 season.

The report comes amid one of the Broncos lowest points since the NFL merger in 1970.
Earlier this season, the club, which sits at No. 6 for the 2018 NFL Draft, lost eight consecutive games for the first time since 1967.
The team will also finish with a losing record for just the sixth season since owner Pat Bowlen purchased the team in 1984.
It’s a “tough” situation, inside linebacker Todd Davis said on Friday in regard to offseason changes regarding the roster itself.
“We have a great locker room, a great group of guys and guys that I’ve been around my whole four years here. It’s tough knowing that some of that can change,” Davis said. “I hope they make the right decisions and I hope that we’re able to keep the playmakers — the people who really make a difference going into next year.”
Cornerback Chris Harris Jr. said “you never know what’s going to happen” in terms of offseason shakeup.
“We don’t know if we’re going to rebuild or are we trying to win a Super Bowl next year. We don’t know the plans,” Harris said. “Everybody’s just trying to put good film out there on the field this week, go hard and be pros.”
