The Denver Broncos have traded one rookie offensive lineman for another, signing rookie guard Chris Muller on Tuesday after waiving undrafted college free agent Erik Austell on Monday.
Muller, also undrafted, started every game of his senior year at Rutgers — 11 at right guard and one at center — and was named honorable mention All-Big 10.
The 6-foot-6, 300-pound big man is another in a string of offseason free agent signings along the Broncos offensive line, including guard Ron Leary and tackle Menelik Watson. Denver also drafted tackle Garett Bolles in the first round of this year’s NFL Draft.
Austell signed with the club in early May out of Charleston Southern before being released on Monday.
