Schefter: Best guess Titans’ WR gets fine for hit on Broncos’ Harris

After a chop block in Sunday’s tilt between the Tennessee Titans and the Denver Broncos led to a sideline melee during the game, and threats of retribution after the game, ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter said he guesses a fine will be handed out by the NFL.
To whom, however, might surprise people.
Joining Sports Radio 104.3 The Fan’s “The Drive” on Monday, Schefter said his best guess is that the league will fine Titans wide receiver Harry Douglas for chop blocking at Broncos cornerback Chris Harris’ knees and not Aqib Talib, who instigated the sideline skirmish.
“I think Harry Douglas will be fined for the hit. I think that’ll draw the brunt of it. That’d be my guess. That’s where I expect it to go,” Schefter said. “We’ll see how it plays out here later this week. But that’s where I would guess it’s going to go.”
Talib was given a personal foul for his role in the fight, but Douglas’ low hit on Harris’ knee was technically a legal play and no flag was thrown.
Despite that — and Talib’s postgame remarks in which he said he was going to “beat” the wide receiver if he saw him off the field — Schefter said Douglas’ hit doesn’t pass the “eye test” and thinks the league will punish him.
“There are certain things you just look at and maybe they’re or legal or illegal, they just don’t look right. That one did not look right to me,” Schefter said. “Now maybe the league will disagree. If they do, they do. But what’s Aqib Talib going to get fined for, starting a fracas?”

Cooler heads have since prevailed after the second-quarter scuffle, with Talib saying Monday that the team has move on from the incident.
“We already spoke about it, (and) we’re moving on. We have a big week this week — Patriots Week. We don’t have a choice. We have to move on,” Talib said.
Head coach Gary Kubiak said Monday that he’d submit the play to the league and that he disagrees with the play. He also said he spoke with Talib on Monday about the brouhaha.
“First off, we have a strong team. We have each other’s back. You better have each other’s back in this business and what we do,” Kubiak said. “You also have to be smart. You can’t hurt your team. That’s what I tell our players. That’s what I told Aqib. He understands that. We can’t put ourselves in a position where we’re hurting what is going on the field.”
