DMac: Would be ‘shocked’ if Broncos don’t start Siemian Thursday

Trevor Siemain’s non-throwing shoulder is getting better every day. It “feels good” even, the Denver Broncos quarterback said Tuesday.
Does the second-year gunslinger, who sprained the shoulder in the Broncos victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers two Sundays ago, expect to play Thursday night against the San Diego Chargers?
“Yes, I think so. I think I’m expecting to play,” Siemian said.
But will he?
That question saw some sidestepping Tuesday, but DMac, co-host of 104.3 The Fan’s “The Drive,” said he would be “shocked” if Siemian doesn’t suit up for the AFC West tilt on the road.
“It’s pretty obvious, he feels fine enough to play,” DMac said regard his observations from the team’s practice Monday evening. “I’m not saying he’s 100 percent, but when are you ever 100 percent in the NFL?”
“I would be shocked if Trevor Siemian doesn’t get the start.”
And a report from 9News Broncos Insider Mike Klis indicates Siemian will be the team’s starter once again in San Diego, should his shoulder hold up during the week of preparation.
Siemian was officially limited both practice days this week, though he was observed as the only player wearing pads during Tuesdays work.
“He had a positive day in practice (Monday), and we’re going to try to progress with him and see where he ends up,” said interim head coach Joe DeCamillis. “That will be a decision that’s made later on during the week and it will be a collective decision.”
DeCamillis, who’s taken the reins from head coach Gary Kubiak as he recovers from a complex migraine, said the decision on who will start — Siemian or rookie Paxton Lynch — will be a collaborative one featuring general manager John Elway.
Lynch entered the Buccaneers game in relief of Siemian, who was hurt on a sack shortly before halftime, throwing for 170 yards and one touchdown on 14-of-24 passing.
However, the rookie struggled in his first NFL start, a loss to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 5, completing 23 of 35 passes for 223 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.
