Mr. irrelevant Red Murdock is looking like a REAL PLAYER! | Stokley and Evans with Mark Schlereth
Red Murdock was the last pick of the entire 2026 NFL Draft — the 257th selection, better known as "Mr. Irrelevant." But there is absolutely nothing irrelevant about what this kid has been doing at Denver Broncos training camp.
Vance Joseph ran practice on Friday while Sean Payton was out of town for Drew Brees' Hall of Fame enshrinement, and Joseph couldn't stop raving about the rookie inside linebacker from Buffalo.
"Red has had his best two days the last couple days," Joseph said. "Red from day one has made every call cleanly, but he was kind of over-processing things. But now he's playing fast again. He's punching the ball out, like in yesterday's practice. Red's job is a little different — he's making the calls. So it took him a couple days to kind of get used to making calls and playing fast, but now he's doing that. I'm looking forward to Friday night to see him play live action with organic looks. It's going to be fun to see."
