Today’s show kicked off with CJ filling in for Sandy alongside Stokley today. The guys talked about the video of Johnny Manziel saying that he was living with Von Miller, but is instead living with Josh Gordon. This turned into a conversation about Josh Gordon and how dynamic of a player he could be if he could solve his off field issues.
Is it time to give up on Josh Gordon? Stokley said yes. CJ talked about what Von Miller went through in his first few years in the leagues, and also talked about Rob Gronkowski. Do we as fans only care about athlete’s behavior if it affects their on field performance?
The conversation on Josh Gordon continued. What team wouldn’t want such a dynamic player if he could clean up his act?
Hour one wrapped up with the conversation on when to give up on an athlete continuing and the guys took some phone calls on the subject.
Hour two began with the guys talking about the stereotypes of white receivers in the NFL before steering the conversation back to when it is time to give up on a troubled athlete. The conversation also shifted that the no marijuana in the NFL rule needs to be reevaluated. The guys took some phone calls to hear the opinions from the listeners on this matter.
The conversation of marijuana use in the NFL continued, including more phone calls on the subject.
Linda Cohn of ESPN joined the program to continue hour two. CJ asked Linda about Patrick Roy’s job security as head coach of the Avalanche. Linda said just because you were the best team in the NHL, doesn’t mean that you should be the favorite in the playoffs. Listen to Linda’s interview HERE.
Following Linda’s interview, the guys shifted the conversation back to marijuana use in the NFL.
Hour two closed out with the guys discussing the Broncos bringing in QB Paxton Lynch for a workout.
Today’s third and final hour began with Drew Goodman of Root Sports joining the guys in studio. The guys talked about the Rockies, specifically Trevor Story. Drew said that Trevor is a better overall athlete than former Rockies SS Troy Tulowitzki. The Rockies are on the right track to being contenders again, according to Drew.
The hour continued with Drew Goodman on the program. Drew previewed the Rockies’ series against the Giants which begins tonight at Coors Field. Drew also gave his opinion on the marijuana use conversation that that CJ and Stokley have discussed for a majority of the day.
The conversation changed to Von Miller and his contract situation as organized team activities approach.
Today’s show wrapped up with the guys finishing up their marijuana use conversation and taking a few phone calls.
