The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE in studio. Shane Ray joins the show from Boca Raton to say DeMarcus Ware took him under his wing, and was a great man on & off the field. Al asks Shane about last year when Ware went down, and Shane says every time he was on the field, his mentality was to make a play. Cecil Lammey tells the guys whether moving up to grab Reuben Foster would be a good idea for the Broncos, and has his eye on Haason Reddick heading into the NFL draft. Troy Renck joins the program to help break the tension in the Tony Romo standoff. Von Miller must step up, and Troy says he exhibited leadership qualities last season.
Al knows Jokic was a baller, and DMac likes Shaq’s abilities in broadcasting. DMac is also excited for Spring training, and Al says the best player he ever played with on a team separate from the Broncos is Anthony Munoz. The guys talk about first-round draft picks that last five years. Al says making the Pro Bowl is key, and DMac thinks a third-round pick is not as critical as the first two rounds. Al & DMac agree the Broncos can’t miss with their first-rounders, and argue over what the stats say. Al asks DMac what if Trevor Siemian plays 11 years in the league, and affirms D.J. Williams was not good, but great. Troy Renck joins the program to help break the tension in the Tony Romo standoff. Von Miller must step up, and Troy says he exhibited leadership qualities last season. Troy can’t confirm if the Broncos will show interest in King Dunlap despite the legal issues, and says Joe Thomas & Joe Staley are not likely options. Where McCaffrey goes will make all the difference, and the guys remember when they saw O.J. Howard at the NFL Scouting Combine and knew he was top-10 material. Al notes that not everyone believes in Christian McCaffrey, and DMac wonders why a player would want to sign the franchise tag if they’re going to get traded. The value of touchdowns in Seattle goes up after the Seahawks ink Eddie lacy, and DMac is still looking for answers after what should have been happening today with the Broncos & Tony Romo. Also, the guys talk Von Miller, and what direction his arrow is heading in now that DeMarcus Ware is stepping away.
