The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE in studio. Tony Romo’s camp gets strategic and the guys hear some audio from Elway about the Broncos looking at all options. Tebow gets a base hit to left field & DeMarcus Ware retires. Cecil Lammey joins the show to dissect Elway’s comments on the new additions to the line and what direction the Broncos are moving in heading into the NFL Draft. Newly acquired Broncos DE Zach Kerr joins the program to talk about what happened in Indianapolis, and he knows the NFL is a business.
Never say never. Al is ready to wait it out for Tony Romo, and DeMarcus Ware officially retires. The guys talk about Al’s nine years compared to Ware’s 12, and players with championship moments worthy of the Ring of Fame. The Peko signing is beloved by Al, and the thought of losing Sly Williams still stings. Elway says last he checked, the Broncos don’t start camp until July. Cecil Lammey joins the show to dissect Elway’s comments on the new additions to the line and what direction the Broncos are moving in heading into the NFL Draft. Cecil says Stephenson is the most likely starter at left tackle at this point, and brings up what happened to Russell Okung last year. Cecil thinks Peko is a guy that could command double-teams up front, and Al says the effort is there to make this team tougher. The way DeMarcus Ware carried himself is what sticks out to Cecil when reflecting on his first-ballot Hall of Fame career, and his leadership will be missed the most. Listen to the interview HERE!
Newly acquired Broncos DE Zach Kerr joins the program to talk about what happened in Indianapolis, and he knows the NFL is a business. Al tells Zach it’s good to have him on our side, and Zach talks about truly loving the opportunity to play professional football. Kerr also understands those that don’t love the game, and are only playing it to make money. Kerr says he plays with a chip on his shoulder for his family, and he’s perfectly fine with his weight & love for wings. Listen to the interview HERE! Also, Kasim Edebali is inked to a one-year deal & the guys count the foreign players currently on the Broncos roster, Al says there’s nothing like losing in professional football, and Brock Osweiler’s fallout with the Texans continues.
The guys discuss moving away from Ty Sambrailo & finding one more lineman in the draft. DMac says don’t reach for a rookie with Stephenson on the roster, and Al says teams are too dependent on numbers as a variable. Total QBR is a stat Al likes, and he honestly cares if Brock got a fair shot in Houston. DMac knows Jerry Jones can’t help himself, and says there are younger adults in that family than Jerry. Also, Kyle Busch fights Joey Logano in the pits, LaVar Ball’s ego trends up after more asinine comments about his sons, and Andre Iguodala’s comments land him in hot water with the NBA.
