The Drive with Big Al and DMac LIVE in studio on this Victory Monday, also a “Goodbye Monday” as Gary Kubiak has retired from the coaching ranks as the Broncos enter the off-season in search of a new Head Coach. Adam Schefter of ESPN and Mike Klis from 9NEWS join the show to talk about the big news of Kubiak’s retirement.
The Drive with Big Al and DMac LIVE in studio on this Victory Monday as Broncos Country celebrates the career of Gary Kubiak, who made the news official that he’s stepping down as the Broncos Head Coach. The fellas talk about the decision not to play Paxton Lynch yesterday after saying he would play all week last week. The Big Three at 3:30 brings up John Elway saying none of the existing Broncos coaching staff will be considered for the Head Coaching position, Aqib Talib and Michael Crabtree chain drama and candidates for the Broncos Head Coaching job. Adam Schefter from ESPN joins the show to talk about how the Kubiak news came down yesterday morning. Football at Four underway with Big Al and DMac talking about the timing of the release of the Kubiak news as DMac asked Kubes if he was surprised about the releasing of the news before yesterday’s game. DMac says his respect level for John Elway has risen in the past couple years because of how he’s had to handle keeping the Broncos organization pointed towards success. Mike Klis from 9NEWS joins the show to give us his thoughts about the press conference earlier today. Klis did say the Broncos are planning on interviewing Vance Joseph for the open Head Coaching seat. Mike also says Kyle Shanahan isn’t a “ceremonial” interview, that there is legit interest. The Closing Bell rings on Kyle Shanahan’s interest level when it comes to Head Coaching jobs in the NFL as trending up. Also trending up is College Football Playoff with Alabama and Clemson set to match up. Trending down are the Broncos’ Assistant Coaches chances of becoming the head man in charge, as well as Jed York and the San Francisco 49ers organization. The show wraps up with the fellas reviewing today’s huge news, Gary Kubiak officially stepping down as Head Coach of the Broncos.
