The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE in studio! Offensive Guard Sam Jones from Arizona State joins the show after being drafted by the Denver Broncos, and Big Al asks him why he left ASU early to enter the draft. Troy Renck of Denver7 joins the show to talk about the Broncos draft, and says the Bradley Chubb pick was virtually bust-proof.
DMac says it seemed like the Broncos were on auto-draft over the weekend, and Royce Freeman continues to impress Big Al. Offensive Guard Sam Jones from Arizona State joins the show after being drafted by the Denver Broncos, and Big Al asks him why he left ASU early to enter the draft. Sam talks about his recent coaching change at ASU and how he weighs 305 lbs. now. Also, Big Al asks Sam Jones about playing for Highlands Ranch & Thunder Ridge and if he’s spoken to his coaches since being drafted. Listen to the interview HERE! The guys argue about the Broncos’ offensive talent as the roster is currently constructed, and Big Al breaks down what happened in the NBA playoffs & LeBron James’ historic performance against the Pacers. DMac wants to know how much the Bill were willing to give up and how much the Broncos could have gotten for their top-5 pick. DMac debates if the Broncos should have made a monster deal to get multiple picks in the 1st round or simply draft Bradley Chubb. Big Al points out the Broncos couldn’t pass on Bradley Chubb, and DMac points out what they did pass up on. DMac says there are now Hall of Fame expectations for Chubb here in Denver, and Big Al says nobody can predict injury. Big Al tries to get DMac on board with the Chubb pick. Big Al thinks this is the best draft Elway has ever had, and DMac talks Matt Russell becoming Elway’s right-hand man. DMac mentions what he thinks will happen with the Bowlen trust, and Big Al decides if Sutton should be starting over DT.
