The Drive with Big Al in studio is joined by DMac LIVE from Aspen for Winter X Games 21. Talking Tiger Woods still looking good and not quitting, the signs of an old champion. All his memorabilia makes him more memorable than Jack Nicklaus, says Big Al. DMac mentions that memories are starting to fade about Aqib Talib’s situation involving a firearm in Dallas. Big Al says he expected the NFL to lay down some sort of punishment during the 2016-17 season. Also, the amount of money Talib is set to lose. Horrible news coming out of Baylor involving sexual assault allegations. Big Al says there is no way Chris Paul gets traded to the Knicks. DMac highlights Austin Rivers significant minutes & Todd Helton’s new gig. Cecil Lammey joins Big Al in studio and DMac LIVE from Aspen, CO for the X-Games to talk closing thoughts from the Senior Bowl & hint at some big names that might be working their way up draft boards. Cecil mentions the Broncos virtually can’t miss at the TE position due to how deep the ’17 class is. The guys discuss Sam Brenner’s head injury and some stats on concussions in the NFL, which have dropped 11.3% from last season. AFC Pro Bowlers talk about Von Miller giving them wine. Big Al says part of the decision may have been promotional. DMac asks Al what he would do with a bottle of wine from Lincoln Kennedy. The guys listen to Von Miller’s comments on sending everyone in the AFC West wine, and DMac says the decision was crazy. Considering who Von Miller was only three years ago, Al gives much credit to DeMarcus Ware for the turnaround. Al laughs about how much Hulk Hogan won in a certain lawsuit against a certain publication. Tyler Polumbus joins the guys & we get John Elway audio on his ex offensive coordinator Rick Dennison. Tyler witnessed the highest scoring offense in NFL history & doesn’t know why Broncos would settle for anything less than Star Wars numbers. What Kyle Shanahan is doing with a similar offense as Dennison highlights the inefficiencies in Denver’s offense. The 49ers are now in a horrible negotiation position & DMac comes to realize why the Broncos decided to make their move early on their coach instead of waiting on Shanahan.
Big Al keeps it 100% about skiing. He wonders why anyone would go up a hill just to come back down, but didn’t realize the feeling you get on the mountain. DMac highlights some of the X-Games competitions he will get to see up at Aspen. Gang violence in the heart of Chicago & Denver in the ’90s is featured & Al talks about what it can do to change the career path for athletes. DMac and Big Al laugh about Ryan Murphy’s situation with a prostitute right before Super Bowl 50. The Nuggets are trending up in the Closing Bell after a win at home over the Suns, but DMac has some dark news for Al on some key injuries to Jokic & Mudiay. Al says NBA teams built for a playoff run are nine players deep. Shaq takes a shot at Charles & Kenny, and the guys have some thoughts on the mic drop. Al says it was a low blow to a future Hall of Famer. Also, DMac’s father, Peter McKee joins the show with wonderful stories about Hunter Thompson & the Super Bowl.
