The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE in studio! Sean McDonough joins the show to say he’s a Syracuse alumni just like DMac, and everyone had their Kansas City Super Bowl ticket punched, but now the Chiefs are struggling on defense. Troy Renck of Denver Channel 7 joins the show to say the Broncos have to run the ball & Trevor has to play better in order for Denver to win.
Dmac points out Derek Wolfe’s foot injury, and the guys talk about a big day upcoming for Jamal Charles. A weak KC secondary waits for Trevor Siemian, and DMac tries to figure out how Denver can go from averaging 10 points to scoring 27 & beating KC through the air. Al & DMac agree Charles will always feel like a Chief, and maybe something special is in store for him on Monday night. In the Big 3 @ 3:30, the guys discuss the popularity of Tom Brady & the Pats, and DMac asks Al if he is hyped about the Astros. Okung says players are skipping owners’ meetings, and DMac says the players are divided with no gameplan. Sean McDonough joins the show to say he’s a Syracuse alumni just like DMac, and everyone had their Kansas City Super Bowl ticket punched, but now the Chiefs are struggling on defense. McDonough says Denver’s defense is for real, but Denver needs more out of their offense. Nobody loves football more than Gruden, and he’s truly a rockstar, says McDonough. Also, how much attention will be paid to Trevor Siemian’s rope on Monday night. Listen to the interview HERE!
In Football @ 4:00, the guys discuss who is more crucial to the Broncos, Wolfe, Peko or Sanders. DMac says Sanders could barely run today, and Al says it would be huge if Sanders could return for Monday night. Al says the run defense might be okay without Wolfe, but needs Peko, and DMac says Siemian’s got to go for it down the field. Al says seven deep shots against KC should do the trick, we just need to find someone with some speed. KC will rip off chunk plays, Al notes, but they can be limited by Denver’s defense. Troy Renck of Denver Channel 7 joins the show to say the Broncos have to run the ball & Trevor has to play better in order for Denver to win. DMac figures out how long VJ’s leash on Trevor will be this week, and Al asks Troy how Shane Ray will help Von on the other side. Also, Troy says the Broncos need Derek Wolfe’s attitude & energy. Listen to the interview HERE!
Patrick Mahomes is lighting it up in practice, and the Chiefs are in position to be patient. Al says give Jamaal Charles the rock & let him go, at least every other series. It is time for Trevor to deliver, and Al & DMac are tired of the excuses for the young QB. Al thinks the Broncos view Devontae Booker as a real receiving threat out of the backfield, and asks DMac what RBs Denver has drafted that contributed right away. DMac says why not give DeAngelo Henderson a shot, and the boys take calls on putting wrinkles in the offense to get more production. Also, the King Soopers Fan Football Pick ‘Em is in full effect, and Matt Moore is under center tonight for the Dolphins in tonight’s TNF matchup.
