The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE in studio! Derek Wolfe joins The Drive presented by Ted’s Montana Grill, and says he’s simply feeling awful overall. Wolfe says you can’t win like that with five turnovers on the offensive end, and DMac asks Derek how he feels about coach VJ’s decision to change out the QB. Wolfe says he’s never been on a losing team, and doesn’t know how to respond right now.
The guys hear from Vance Joseph on who the starter should currently be for the Broncos. DMac knew this would be Siemian’s last game as a starter, and Big Al says what has transpired has been completely unpredictable. Al wants to get taking our lumps with Paxton Lynch over with, and says some of Trevor’s throws were the worst he’s ever seen. Al is all done with Trevor, doesn’t know if he can be a backup, and says now the Broncos have no choice but to go with Brock. DMac says with this defense, there is still hope Denver can get it together. In the Big 3 @ 3:30, Big Al asks DMac who the Broncos best RB was last night, and DMac says it’s hard to tell, considering all the mistakes factored in. DMac asks Big Al how Vance Joseph will handle the situation & tell the team they are making a change at quarterback. Also, if the Broncos are considering a QB elsewhere around the NFL as a possible starter. The Broncos have been playing from behind at all times in 2017, and Wolfe says it’s like they’re playing with one hand tied behind their backs. Also, what it’s like getting treatment all day long, no real rest, having bronchitis, a broken ankle, and a bruised kidney. Listen to the interview HERE!
In Football @ 4:00, Al & DMac laugh that the Browns are so bad, they screwed up getting a backup QB at the trade deadline in AJ McCarron. Vance Joseph admits there is currently no plan at QB, as Denver is still reviewing everything from the previous week, and tells the media Paxton hasn’t played since Week 3 of the preseason & is not ready to take over starting QB duties. DMac is done with Isaiah McKenzie, and says he’s fine with fair-catching punts moving forward. Al says DMac started out positive, and now he’s too negative. The guys joke about kicking the ball to opposing playmakers like Tyreek Hill, and Big Al says Isaiah McKenzie doesn’t value the football. DMac says even though Riley Dixon is from Syracuse, he needs to go if he’s not going to listen to coaching. Also, not only is Devontae Booker touching the rock, the Broncos want him to be their No. 1 RB, and the guys are okay with firing Brock Olivo & Mike McCoy.
Dmac asks Big Al if things would have been different with Brock Osweiler at the helm on Monday night, and the guys tip their cap to some plays Mike McCoy called to get Janovich involved & score TDs. DMac says Siemian was missing passes he makes 100 times in practice, and Al says he loved that Mike McCoy did not deviate from the running game. The guys also admit Travis Kelce is hard to stop, the defense will eventually revolt, and we can’t live with drops from the receivers. Al is not quite done critiquing Trevor Siemian, and mentions some of Trevor’s worst throws of all-time. Al says Trevor is at a disadvantage when his play-calling is poor, and the guys take calls on the most frustrating part about the Broncos loss last night on Monday Night Football.
