The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE in studio! Big Al says Shane Ray’s injury has clouded his contract situation, and Elway no longer trusts Shane Ray to stay healthy & be productive. DMac asks Al how he can be all-in on the Broncos front office when it comes to the NFL draft, but still be upset about Shane Ray.
The guys talk about NFL rule changes, and if the kickoff should be eliminated from games completely. DMac has an idea for Al based on Greg Schiano’s rule-change idea regarding kickoffs. Also, drama with Mullen vs Smoky Hill in baseball, and drama regarding Shane Ray’s 5th-year option in Denver. In the Big 3, Big Al talks about the NBA playoffs, and Charles Barkley’s beef with Draymond Green. The guys figure out Drake’s role when it comes to the Raptors.
The guys discuss Shane Ray’s contract situation, and Al explains why the Broncos may be making a mistake by not picking up Shane Ray’s 5th-year option. Big Al says Shane Ray’s injury has clouded his contract situation, and Elway no longer trusts Shane Ray to stay healthy & be productive. DMac asks Al how he can be all-in on the Broncos front office when it comes to the NFL draft, but still be upset about Shane Ray. DMac mentions how much Jeff Holland got paid as a UDFA out of Auburn to be on the Denver Broncos, and Big Al says Holland has a good chance to at least make the practice squad. DMac says Shane Ray may be behind Shaq Barrett on the depth chart, and even additions like Jeff Holland will hurt Shane Ray’s chances to shine in Denver. DMac mentions that Denver may try to play Bradley Chubb out of position, and the guys take some calls on what to expect from Denver’s defense without Shane Ray on the roster.
Big Al defends Shane Ray, and tells DMac what to expect out of Shane in Denver’s defense now that Bradley Chubb is in town. Also, Al names three players that will never leave the field on passing downs. Also, the guys decide who Phillip Lindsay will compete against for a roster spot on the Broncos. Emmanuel Sanders was ‘at it again’ according to DMac today, and we hear audio from Sanders’ presser from earlier in the day. DMac tells Valor how they can start matching up with better teams that are more fit to play against them. DMac brings up rankings for WRs across the NFL, and Big Al gives the Broncos an ‘A’ draft grade. DMac gives his opinion on Sanders thinking he might be gone this offseason.
