Today’s show on a beautiful Tuesday started off by welcoming Stokley back. The guys talked about how last night’s Final Four title game was one of the best ever as Villanova won the game with 4.7 seconds left in regulation.
The show continued with Sandy and Stokley talking about the Derek Wolfe incident from Saturday night in a Denver nightclub. Stokley said he doesn’t like to see a core member of the Broncos defense putting himself in that situation.
Sandy and Stokley continued discussing the Derek Wolfe incident. Stokley said that as a Bronco player, you have to understand that you’re going to be recognized, and targeted.
Hour one closed out with some discussion on the Rockies opening day victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks 10-5. Trevor Story was the headline of the night who hit 2 home runs in his major league debut on opening day, which had never been in MLB history.
Hour two began with a discussion on the potential Colin Kaepernick trade with the 49ers. Stokley said it’s very important that a quarterback is in the building for the beginning of OTAs.
The conversation on Derek Wolfe continued. Sandy and Stokley said they aren’t saying Derek didn’t have a right to defend himself, but that he shouldn’t put himself in situations like that.
Darren Woodson of ESPN and former Dallas Cowboy joined Sandy and Stokley to talk some Broncos and NFL. Darren said you’re San Francisco, you don’t want Colin Kaepernick, and that San Francisco showed their hand a little too early revealing they wanted to deal Colin. The biggest concern for John Elway, is if Colin can come to Denver and make the team better according to Darren. Darren said to repeat as champions, it’s all about getting back to the basics and Coach Kubiak has his work cut out for him. Listen to Darren’s interview HERE.
The second hour closed out with further reaction to the Derek Wolfe story. Sandy said this story is bigger than Derek Wolfe, and it isn’t about his contract or play. The conversation is about the difference between appropriate and inappropriate behavior.
Hour three began with talking about the Rockies’ opening day victory. The Rockies have had 5 straight losing seasons over the last 5 years. GM Jeff Bridich said that the Rockies have done enough losing, and it’s time to start winning. Stokley said the game last night made him excited and optimistic for the season.
The guys shifted gears to talk about the Final Four tournament that Villanova won with 4.7 seconds left in the game on a three point shot last night. The guys recapped their favorite parts of the game.
The Broncos are obviously trying to get another quarterback. Stokley believes that the 49ers hold more leverage than the Broncos do in regards to the potential deal for Colin Kaepernick.
Drew Goodman of Root Sports joined the show for the final segment to give his take on the Rockies’ big opening day win, and the successful debut of Trevor Story.
