The Drive LIVE in studio, Big Al and DMac open up the show talking about last night’s Golden State/Oklahoma City game. DMac compares the excitement of watching the Golden State Warriors to watching the Harlem Globetrotters.
The conversation switches to the impact that great players have on their teams. Alfred says that great players make the playoffs three out of every five seasons and ensues to say Calvin Johnson isn’t a ‘great’ player.
The Big Three at 3:30 elaborates on Jose Reyes being back with the Rockies, Steph Curry scoring 15 points in a row last night and Christian McCaffrey’s comments in Sports Illustrated.
Patrick Saunders from the Denver Post joins The Drive to talk Jose Reyes, the solid Rockies pitching staff top to bottom and Charlie Blackmon’s beard. Catch the chat with Patrick HERE!
Football at Four underway as Alfred says the city of Denver is lucky to have had a couple different players that have played with the Broncos and another team and will be in both teams. Mark Sanchez had surgery on his non-throwing thumb today and DMac raises red flags with how he injured it.
Alfred talks about the original injury that happened to his Achilles injury, which happened well before he snapped it to end his career and suggests that Sanchez’s injury is pre-existing.
DMac has some trust issues regarding having a “clumsy” Quarterback leading the Broncos’ organization and refers to Sanchez as “Butt Fumble.” Alfred officially asks DMac to never refer to him as that because he IS the STARTING Quarterback for the Broncos and there is a certain respect level that should be given to such.
The third and final hour underway as the guys talk about the hate the Broncos’ Defense is feeling right now as Big Al and DMac evaluate some of the “hate” that some past Denver athletes have gotten. Todd Helton hates DMac and out of all athletes that hate him, that one stings the most. DJ Williams, who the Broncos cut while he still had productive time left in the NFL.
The guys go over some of the NFL Network’s Top 100 as we review Emmanuel Sanders, who was #74. To play in the slot, you have to be a different guy, Alfred shows some love to Patriots Wide Receiver Julian Edelman.
The Closing Bell rings on the NFL’s paying back $700k to the Military for honoring them during games, Steph Curry and his shooting ability, College programs recruiting a Middle Schooler and Jeff Hornacek signing on to coach the New York Knicks.
Breaking NFL News as the show ends as CBS Sports reports the NFL will move the Pro Bowl to Orlando after Orlando outbid Sydney, Australia and Honolulu
