The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE IN STUDIO!!! Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post joins the show presented by Rox Heating & Air to answer Al’s question about the Rockies lineup disappointing considering the ballpark they play in. Troy Renck of Denver 7 joins the show presented by Trani Law to talk about the sights & sounds from Broncos practice today, and tells Al & DMac he doesn’t expect PacMan Jones to play in the final preseason game but Su’a Cravens should suit up.
Dmac gushes about Pumpkin Spice Lattes and tells Al a coffee story. The boys get into DJ LeMahieu’s grand slam & Ottavino’s blown hold. DMac says Ohtani is awesome, and become an athletic freak-show you can’t take your eyes off of. Also, debate on if replay should be used in the majors to get the call right & DMac still loves Eric Young Jr. & Mike Trout. In the Big 3, the guys talk about Dez Bryant waiting to play until he’s ‘right’ and DMac wonders if there’s something else going on with him. Al wonders why the Patriots don’t sign Bryant, and mentions the Madden qualifiers that have been canceled after the shooting in Jacksonville. The guys hear VJ’s comments about every team in the NFL currently dealing with final cuts & the final preseason game, and DMac is livid about Game 4 in the preseason existing. DMac tells Al to imagine the horror of losing Royce Freeman to injury. Big Al talks about what’s going on in Minnesota with their quarterbacks, and says Kyle Sloter is overtaking Trevor Siemian as the Vikings’ backup. DMac says Elway is starting to accept his mistakes & should keep Paxton Lynch on the 53-man roster. The boys make a friendly bet on if Paxton will still be on the roster after 53-man cut-downs, and Big Al is keeping his eye on veteran QBs like Matt Moore. Big Al tries to decide which game on the Broncos regular season schedule will be the easiest. Al & DMac take some calls on if other teams are scared of the’18 Broncos, and think of the scariest players on the Broncos roster this year. DMac says the real regular season begins after Week 3 & teams make adjustments. We hear audio from Martin Luther King Jr.’s ‘I Have a Dream’ speech 55 years ago. Big Al says what a pleasant surprise, and DMac says King’s speech resonates years later.
