Zach asks Al what he thinks about Royce Freeman, and if the Broncos will be able to bully people in 2018. The guys talk about improvements to the game, and what draft picks the Broncos coaches signed off on. Also, Brandon Marshall in the passing game & why Tom Brady gets a pass in OTAs. Zach & Big Al talk about the elimination of the kickoff & changes to formations to make the NFL game safer. Zach asks Big Al what he thinks about the rumor regarding Baker Mayfield and the Patriots, and Al mentions how much longer he can see Brady staying as New England’s QB. Big Al tells Zach a story about Victor Oladipo wanting to get better, and the guys debate if things would be different in Denver with Donovan Mitchell at the point guard position.
Big Al tells Zach Chubb & Miller could be so good that Todd Davis is no longer needed, and Von would embrace a new role with open arms. Big Al says year one doesn’t matter as much to him as year two, and he’s anxious to see who Garett Bolles & Myles Garrett are this year. Big Al explains why Kobe didn’t talk about his secret sauce when he was playing, and what makes Von Miller’s swim-move special. Also, Big Al mentions how to be efficient to get the most out of your practice time. Al says teams like the Patriots showed us a new way to play football that was a mix of the NFL & the college game. Zach & Al discuss if the Broncos shave the personnel & coaching to run misdirection and other wrinkles to move the linebacker. Zach & Al talk about Shane Ray’s upcoming 5th-year option, and Al tells Zach why Shane’s best years will come when there’s no pressure to be the starter or a leader.
Big Al tells Zach we have jump-ball receivers for a reason, and only the game’s best QBs can play in particular windows. Zach cautions himself about buying into Courtland Sutton as the 3rd WR in Denver for 2018, and hopes Sutton is not Carlos Henderson. Also, Al tells Zach why DaeSean Hamilton won’t let him down. Zach is rooting for blind justice when it comes to the Broncos, and Big Al is rooting for a big preseason from Paxton Lynch to put him in the starting QB conversation come next season. Al gives Zach some players to compare Paxton Lynch to, such as Blake Bortles, and says things might be different for Lynch with a different coaching staff in Denver. Zach is hesitant to committing to Paxton any further.
