DMac says now the Vikings will enter the Kirk Cousins sweepstakes, and the guys gush over Trevor Siemian’s engagement. DMac says the Bortles extension show the Jags are prepared to move forward with Bortles for at least another year, and possibly draft a rookie QB as well. Cecil Lammey joins the show to talk about the QB shakeups in the NFL, and who the Broncos might be looking at as free agency approaches. Cecil says Lamar Jackson is a right-handed Michael Vick, and notes the importance of play-calling when it comes to the success of Jackson. Big Al will be looking at average Wonderlic scores, and Cecil cautions him about the scores of Blaine Gabbert & Ryan Fitzpatrick. Also, DMac asks Cecil about some names you’ve likely never heard before as they gear up for the NFL Scouting Combine. The guys try to re-draft the 2017 NFL Draft, and Big Al has a whole bunch of ‘told-you-so’ when grading John Elway’s past drafts. DMac has some choice words on Brendan Langley, and wonders what Denver was thinking when they drafted Carlos Henderson. Also, why last year’s draft was such a bust for Elway. Al & DMac remember Al’s reaction to the Tim Tebow pick, and Al notes what made Tim so special. DMac talks about how amazing the run was, and compares the Bolles pick to the Tebow pick. Big Al can’t get over Demaryius Thomas’ speed on his touchdown against the Steelers in the Wild Card round back in 2012, and DMac cautions everyone that the Tebow offense was useless once the Patriots figured out how to defend it. Also, we take a trip down memory lane, as DMac plays some audio of Big Al’s reaction to the Broncos’ pick of Garett Bolles in 2017.
