The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE in studio! Matt Hasselbeck joins the show to say the Broncos turnover differential is killing them right now, and it’s not surprising they are losing games with all the balls they are putting on the ground. Cecil Lammey joins the show to give his impressions on the Broncos offense & if a change in play-calling would do the trick.
Dmac says he’s not pounding the table for Brock anymore. Al says the only sustainable ideas are ones that win the game. Al says the QB needs to get rid of the ball in two seconds or less, because the offensive line is struggling. DMac says this is who the Broncos are, and to win, they must grind games out & not fumble the ball. Also, why Riley Dixon is screwing Brock Olivo up. In the Big 3 @ 3:30, DMac asks Big Al about Bob McNair’s comments on the inmates running the prison, and Al says he was not well-spoken & doesn’t know how to express himself. Also, Al says he feels bad for Kiko Alonso, because Joe Flacco pushed the envelope & Alonso is not a dirty player. The guys discuss the luxuries of going to college, and what would float in and out of the dorm rooms all the time. DMac says communication is lacking in today’s generation, but money is not.
Matt Hasselbeck joins the show to say the Broncos turnover differential is killing them right now, and it’s not surprising they are losing games with all the balls they are putting on the ground. Hasselbeck says Siemian needs to improve on being strong in the pocket, and although he’s been taking hits, he needs to stand tall in the face of adversity. Hasselbeck says it’s a mindset, and he knows Trevor is as tough as they come. Listen to the interview HERE! Cecil Lammey joins the show to give his impressions on the Broncos offense & if a change in play-calling would do the trick. Cecil says the broncos are not out of it by any means, but if they drop three straight to the Chiefs, Eagles & Pats, he’s starting to think of 1st-round QBs that would look good in orange & blue, including Lamar Jackson. Listen to the interview HERE! The guys agree the return game is an art form, and DMac believes Brock Olivo fell on the sword for players like Riley Dixon & Brendan Langley, who made execution mistakes. Al defends Langley, saying not many returners have an average like his when returning kicks.
Al & DMac agree Alex Smith is calm in the pocket, and try to figure out why Trevor Siemian doesn’t see a blitz coming straight up the middle. Adam Gase says the Dolphins have the worst offense in the NFL, and Cutler is looking like a better option than Matt Moore. Al is shocked to hear the news that Marcell Dareus has been traded to the Jags. In the King Soopers Fan Football Pick ‘Em, DMac tries to figure out why Alfred went with the Dolphins, and the guys are happy it’s Friday. Al tells DMac about the Friday Afternoon Club at CU Boulder, and pays homage to Rashaan Salaam.
