The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE IN STUDIO! Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post joins the show to talk about the Rockies at home, and if they are doing enough to keep a hot Nolan Arenado around when his contract is up.
The boys welcome DMac back, and DMac talks about the struggles of making it in college baseball. DMac asks Al if he’s had the chance to check out the show ‘Last Chance U’ and questions Al about his current take on Paxton Lynch. In the Big 3, the guys discuss why Lamar Jackson didn’t run the 40-yard dash at the combine or his pro-day, and DMac asks Big Al just how special Michael Porter Jr. can be for the Nuggets. Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post joins the show to talk about the Rockies at home, and if they are doing enough to keep a hot Nolan Arenado around when his contract is up. Patrick mentions the bullpen struggles & how much Colorado paid for that bullpen, and the kind of legacy Arenado wants to leave. Listen to the interview HERE!
In Football @ 4, Big Al defends his take on Paxton, and says Paxton has to learn quickly if he ever wants to be the starter. Al says it will be fun watching Case Keenum play his brand of football, and the guys debate who is destined to forever be a backup. Big Al has the idea to trade Shane Ray for Teddy Bridgewater, and DMac says he’s okay with the decision. DMac says there must be a reason why the Broncos didn’t extend Shane Ray, but points out the value in the trade for both teams. DMac pays his respects to XXXTENtacion after hearing the sad news about his death, and asks Al if the Broncos think too highly of Paxton Lynch. Big Al lays out when it’s too early to start thinking the season is lost, and when a Shane Ray trade must be made. Al & DMac talk about the hype surrounding the Broncos’ matchup against the LA Rams, and if Von Miller & the team will be able to catch the Drake concert at Pepsi Center on July 28th. Also, DMac has everyone circle their calendars on when to expect Teddy Bridgewater in Denver.
Big Al lays out why he thinks Melo is a coward, and the guys laugh about LeBron’s ‘The Decision’ in 2010. Al notes why Melo takes the money, and when he showed his cards to the rest of the NBA. Al says there won’t be another waste of talent in the NBA like Carmelo Anthony. Big Al explains how DT leads in a different way, and how he has put in the work to earn his way onto the Broncos Ring of Fame. Big Al gets heated about Nikola Jokic signing or not signing a max deal here in Denver, and thinks Michael Porter Jr. will be a better version of Carmelo Anthony. Big Al is afraid of Jokic walking & playing for another team, and DMac reassures him Jokic will sign his max deal with the Nuggets. Also, Al is worried about Nolan Arenado leaving the Rockies, and DMac says keep an eye on the Angels to sign Nolan eventually.
