Rockies select Vilade, Doyle on Day 1 of the 2017 MLB Draft

The Colorado Rockies selected Ryan Vilade, a third baseman out of Stillwater (Okla.) High School, with their first pick (48th overall, Round 2) of the 2017 MLB Draft. Later in the round, the club took Tommy Doyle, a right-handed pitcher out of the University of Virginia, with the 70th pick.
