The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE in studio! Dan Woike of the LA Times joins the show to discuss the upcoming game at Mile High against the Chargers. Austin Ekeler, WR of the LA Chargers, and formerly of Western State and Eaton High School, joins the show to tell Al & DMac the same agent recruited him & Danny Woodhead, and told Austin he had some of the same characteristics as Woodhead.

Dmac congratulates Brandon Stokley on his Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame induction, and touches on the situation with Craig Carton being arrested by the FBI over an alleged $5.6M ticket scam to pay his gambling debts. Big Al says it’s too bad Philip Rivers plays for the Los Angeles Chargers, because he’s got the perfect attitude to be the Denver Broncos starting QB. Also, Al says it’s wonderful seeing who Melvin Gordon has become, and DMac notes it has hurt the Broncos rush defense always playing from behind. Dan Woike of the LA Times joins the show to discuss the upcoming game at Mile High against the Chargers. Dan says Austin Ekeler fits the profile of an undrafted free-agent, and has bought early stock in the young prospect. Woike highlights some Chargers stars that will not shine right away, and tells the guys what would & wouldn’t surprise him Monday night against Denver. Listen to the interview HERE!

Big Al says this year doesn’t seem fixed like last year, and DMac wonders when the last time there was a special-teams captain like McManus. Al says Talib as a captain is perfect for the team & DMac says he’s a bit of a hot-head. The guys note Talib plays the game the right way & is now friends with Goodell. Also, Al has a new respect for DT & Chris Harris Jr. after watching them take care of their bodies. Michael Bennett is arrested outside the McGregor fight, and the guys hear some audio from TMZ. Big Al says it is a free country, and he understands both sides but wants to know more. The guys discuss personalities of athlete family members becoming a distraction to the team. Big Al says Brent Grimes’ personal relationships may have cost him a spot on the team, and DMac wants to make sure it wasn’t a case of insensitivity. Al says you just can’t tell your wife to bug off, and DMac explains what Kaepernick’s girlfriend did. Big Al congratulates Brock on taking the extra money two years ago, and says Brock not going to the ring ceremony hurt his profile here in Denver. DMac says having a kid changed Brock, and the Broncos could let him walk after his current contract. Big Al thinks the Broncos extend Brock by season’s end, and the guys argue over whether Paxton will be in the conversation by next year.
