The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE in studio! Cecil Lammey joins the show to say Saquon Barkley is the home run of the draft & is a ‘can’t-miss’ prospect that can be better than Ezekiel Elliot and Todd Gurley. Denver7 Broncos Insider Troy Renck joins the show to talk about how the Broncos trade up to the first overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, and how hard it would be for John Elway to pass on Josh Allen to select Baker Mayfield.

Al & DMac compare Josh Allen, Josh Rosen and Baker Mayfield after the QBs compete at the NFL Scouting Combine over the weekend. DMac asks Al if the Broncos have time to wait it out on Kirk Cousins’ decision, or if he will end up in Minnesota. Al tells DMac if the Broncos want Saquon Barkley they must find a way to get up to the No. 1 overall pick, and DMac says if they want Rosen, they must get to No. 2 overall. DMac laughs at Deion Sanders comments about a white Safety at the NFL Combine, and says Sanders needs to show up more prepared when covering the combine. Big Al says Josh Allen’s arm is unbelievable, and marvels at Shaquem Griffin’s official time in the 40-yard-dash. DMac brings up Aqib Talib’s beef with Mark Kiszla, and asks Al if Aqib is a cancer in the locker room & if this is a perfect example of the rift between NFL players & the media. The guys decide if Kiszla is allowed to hate the Broncos as a columnist.

DMac asks Al if he noticed any of the NFL draft prospects elevate their level of play for the combine, and if Kirk Cousins would get the job done getting Denver back to the Super Bowl in 2018 or 2019. Cecil Lammey joins the show to say Saquon Barkley is the home run of the draft & is a ‘can’t-miss’ prospect that can be better than Ezekiel Elliot and Todd Gurley. Big Al says the Browns now have no choice but to draft Barkley at No. 1 overall, and the guys discuss what the Giants are going to do if they don’t go with a quarterback. Big Al sees Josh Allen going to Denver because of his big arm, and the pages in the playbook that would open up with Allen at the helm. DMac has Big Al give him a dream scenario for the Broncos in the draft this year, and the guys decide if Kirk Cousins wants the most money, he will go to the NY JETS. Also, why Cousins would pick Minnesota over Denver if it came to winning, and what reasons at all Cousins would have to choose Denver & come play for Elway. Big Al says Vance Joseph isn’t the only one that’s been drinking through a fire-hose since he got here, Elway must also be included. Al says the Steelers have a philosophy & a detailed model for the type of player they want to draft, and Denver needs to develop those same things. The guys discuss high school athletes rolling into the ‘G’ League, and Kobe Bryant winning an Academy Award for his short animated film ‘Dear Basketball.’ Big Al congratulates the high school teams that made it to the Final Four.
