Al wonders when Robert Kraft will make it in, and goes over his best memory of Pat Bowlen rocking the fur coat. Al remembers the best of Pat Bowlen, and DMac says Urban Meyer’s three-game suspension is too light. DMac scratches his head at how Matt Holliday is being used, and thinks Steelers coach Mike Tomlin might be paranoid. NY Daily News Reporter Manish Mehta joins the show to answer Al’s question about the Jets’ interest in Shane Ray, as well as Khalil Mack. Manish weighs the market for Teddy Bridgewater compared to Josh McCown, and points out Sam Darnold’s intangibles & ability to limit mistakes. Also, why a trade will be difficult to pull off once the season begins. Listen to the interview HERE!
The guys bring up Urban Meyer’s sticky situation and three-game suspension, and DMac says they are ‘gutless’ over at Ohio State. Big Al tries to defend Meyer, and DMac reminds Al that he is sadly mistaken & needs to do more research. DMac says the Rockies dropped the ball on their daytime broadcast of the Padres game, and we hear audio from Ian Desmond’s walk-off home run. DMac says the Rockies found a way to get it done with the long ball, and Big Al laughs about Todd Gurley’s comments on playing in the preseason. DMac pleads with the listeners to be ‘all-in’ on Baker Mayfield, and tells Al Broncos fans don’t compare to Bills fans & their passion for the game. Big Al wants to take a break right away after DMac refers to Broncos Country as ‘Broncos Land’ and finds out from DMac exactly what he did while he was in Buffalo. Big Al says auto-draft almost landed Denver a starting quarterback, and we hear audio from Brian Griese on why it’s all in Paxton Lynch’s head.
The guys congratulate Pat Bowlen on his likely Hall of Fame induction, and Big Al lays out what Mike Shanahan’s relationship with Pat Bowlen was like. We hear comments from David Baker on Pat Bowlen making it into the Hall of Fame, and Big Al talks about how it felt to win big with Mr. Bowlen in Denver. Also, DMac tells Big Al why we don’t need another preseason game to figure out what to do with the Broncos running backs. Former Denver Broncos Head Coach Mike Shanahan joins the show to talk about how seeing Pat Bowlen get inducted into the Hall of Fame made him feel.
