The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE in studio! Derek Wolfe joins the show pres. by Ted’s Montana Grill to talk about his latest bumps & bruises, and what lineman look for when lining up against him. Wolfe says his arm went numb on the first play of the Bengals game, and the last time he kept going under similar circumstances, he ended up in the ICU.
Al says our biggest problem is that the Broncos ownership situation is not yet settled. DMac points out that Beth Bowlen is the one Pat Bowlen wanted to pass down the business to. DMac tries to explain his opinion on who the trust should be passed down to, and what the problem with a three-person committee would be. The guys talk missteps with the organization, and how to fix things with a quick turnaround. In the Big 3 @ 3:30, the guys talk about Aqib Talib’s fight with Michael Crabtree, the Grizzlies firing David Fizdale and the NY Giants benching Eli Manning. Also, Wolfe explains why crying shows that Paxton cares. Listen to the interview HERE!
DMac asks Al about realistic tradeable commodities, and who he would rather have than Kirk Cousins. DMac tells Al going after Bridgewater is insane, and the guys laugh about Peyton Manning’s hole-in-one while playing golf with Joe Ellis. The Tennessee Vols head coaching job is once again available, and Al decides if backing the BRINKS truck up for a QB is the right decision. Also, the guys talk breakdowns and crying, and Al asks what an athlete is supposed to do when they are hurt and have nowhere to go. Al mentions Paxton’s sadness & pain, and says he gets it, and DMac says it looked ridiculous & he’s ready to trade Paxton for a bag of footballs.
DMac says there are many options on where Denver wants to go from here, and asks Al what was so attractive to Peyton Manning about the Broncos. Al says when John Elway showed up, things changed, and now John is the guy after Josh McDaniels embarrassed us. Alfred goes out on a limb, picking the Broncos and Texans in the King Soopers Fan Football Pick Em, and the guys talk about Aqib Talib’s suspension getting reduced to one game. DMac is not sure about the Broncos coverage at the end of the game against Oakland, and Al laughs about Musgrave & Gannon.
