The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE in studio! Brock Olivo falls on the sword for his guys on special teams after a few crucial mistakes against Buffalo that could have changed the game. Michael Gehlken of the Las Vegas Review joins the show to determine if the Raiders’ most recent loss against the Redskins was a sign of things to come in ’17, or just an aberration.
Rockies fireworks, and a thank you to the fans tonight at Coors Field. Al says he is excited to rep the Rockies hard! Danny Trevathan lays down a nasty hit on Davante Adams last night in the Bears vs. Packers game, and DMac asks Al just how brutal the hit was. In the Big 3 @ 3:30, DMac wants to know if they should take the under or the over when it comes to Marshawn Lynch’s yardage total on Sunday, and Big Al says congrats to Russell Westbrook, as he signs an extension for a cool $205 million. DMac asks if Danny Trevathan should be suspended to send a message. Brock Olivo falls on the sword for his guys on special teams after a few crucial mistakes against Buffalo that could have changed the game. Al says special teams matter in a game, and look no further than Steven Hauschka, Buffalo Bills kicker, for proof of that.
A bald eagle flies over Broncos practice today, and DMac says it may be an omen for Sunday against the Raiders. Al agrees Denver can’t let Oakland off the hook, and the guys debate if all 16 games for Denver are a must-win. Michael Gehlken of the Las Vegas Review joins the show to determine if the Raiders’ most recent loss against the Redskins was a sign of things to come in ’17, or just an aberration. Gehlken knows Khalil Mack was AP Defensive Player of the Year, but points out other playmakers along Oakland’s defensive line that help Mack out & pressure opposing QBs. Also, what will happen when the Raiders relocate to Las Vegas. Listen to the interview HERE! Big Al says Jalen Richard is a bad matchup for Brandon Marshall, and can be a defense killer with the correct scheme if Denver does not check at the line. Al thinks teams will attack Denver with RBs & TEs all year long, and says Amari Cooper isn’t even in Julio Jones’ zip code. DMac isn’t too sure how accurate Carr can be, and Al says Broncos hard-counts are imperative & Siemian does not use them. Good shows to start binge-watching, and why Todd Davis is on Big Al’s hot seat, as the Broncos look for ways to match up with Jared Cook & Jalen Richard.
In the Fan Friday Fire-Up, the fans call in on Del Rio being a traitor and if we are worried about Derek Carr, or if Denver will leave Oakland black & blue. Also, if Emmanuel Sanders & DT will feast on the Raiders secondary & if the Rockies can have another Rocktober in ’17. The moment everyone has been waiting for, the Colorado Rockies Fire Up ’17! Callers line up to show their support for the local baseball team, as they get set for their final home series at Coors this weekend against the L.A. Dodgers, and try to lock down the final NL Wild Card spot. The guys pick the NFL Week 4 games that matter, including the Chargers matchup against the Eagles, and if Philip Rivers & Co. can turn things around with time running out. Finally, Al & DMac make their picks for Broncos vs. Raiders, and you won’t believe who all the guys went with.
