The Drive with Big Al & DMac LIVE in studio! Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post joins the show to talk about all the media there to watch Shohei Ohtani’s every move in spring training, and how young Brendan Rodgers is progressing.

Big Al says the conversation is always about the quarterbacks, and he needs the Raiders to be good again. Al takes some calls from the fellas on why everyone hates the Raiders, and DMac mentions why Sam Darnold has been raising eyebrows. In the Big 3, LeBron calls the NCAA corrupt, and DMac gets Al’s thoughts on Jerry Jones appeal of his fine handed down by Roger Goodell. Also, Big Al can’t believe Team USA Women’s appearance on Ellen & their photos in the ESPN Body issue. The guys talk about the recent NFL rule changes, including the ‘catch rule’ and hiring new coaches. DMac tells Al it could be cool to see a coaching free agency period similar to what we have for the players.

Big Al hits DMac with why most coaches in the NFL get fired, and says a new coach means new hope. DMac says it’s not that simple, and Big Al mentions how a new coach can ignite the fan base and be good for ticket sales. Big Al answers DMac’s question about the Broncos making the right choice when it comes to going with VJ over Kyle Shanahan. DMac says Cousins will land in Minnesota, and he will have to suspend his conclusion on the matter until next year. DMac asks Al how much he would be okay with paying Keenum, and if we have enough information on the QBs by now for John Elway to make an informed decision on one. Patrick tells Big Al & DMac if Colorado gets a comeback season from Adam Ottavino, we could be looking at the best Rockies bullpen in history, and there’s nobody in the locker room that leads like CarGo did. DMac tells Al the broncos will need to play moneyball this year, and replace the numbers put up by their top stars with the production from two or three different players. Al says quarterbacks are difference-makers, and DMac says Case Keenum is barely a top-10 free agent & the Broncos will do what the Bears did last year with Glennon & Trubisky.

DMac says if the Broncos shove Paxton down his throat as the backup he’s going to lose it, and Big Al wants our first round picks to start.
